SPOOKY MOON MOBILE
(heavy cardboard plates, poster paint, facial tissue, string, construction paper)
1. Cut two crescent moon shapes from heavy cardboard plates. Paint them yellow inside and out and let dry.
2. Place the moon shapes together, with the plate bottoms toward the outside, and staple them along the curved edges.
3. To make a ghost, tightly crumple a white tissue into a ball. Place it in the middle of a second tissue, and pull the tissue smoothly around the ball. Tie it at the neck with string. Glue on paper eyes.
4. Make pumpkins the same way as the ghost, but cut off the tissue to make a stem. Paint the pumpkins orange and the stems green. Add a paper face.
5. Cut bats from paper. Punch two holes in the centers, and tie a long string through them.
6. Punch holes along the inner curve of the moon. Tie the strings from the ghosts, pumpkins, and bats to the holes. Punch another hole in the top of the moon and attach a string for a hanger.
