CARVED CAROLINE
(pumpkin, table knife, spoons)
1. With the help of an adult, use a table knife to cut around the stem of the pumpkin and remove the top. With a large spoon, scoop out the seeds and inner membranes of the pumpkin. (Save the seeds and roast them later.)
2. On a piece of paper, sketch a face for your pumpkin. Then lightly draw it on the pumpkin itself.
3. With an adult's help cut out entire sections of the pumpkin. Or cut just below the skin surface and scoop out with a small spoon.
4. Place a small light in the center of the pumpkin to make it shine at night
