Milk Carton Cat
MILK CARTON CAT
(one-pint milk carton, poster paint, cardboard)
1. Use a one-pint milk carton for the cat, with the opened peaks forming the ears. Draw the eyes and mouth on the side of the carton and cut them out. Paint the carton and let dry. (Add a little dishwashing detergent to the paint to help make it stick to the carton, if needed.)
2. Cut a slit in the bottom of the carton below the cat's face. Cut a strip of cardboard as wide as the carton and as long as needed to reach the carton top. Place the strip in the slit and trace the eyes and mouth on it.
3. Paint the eyes on the cardboard strip. Draw a long tongue on another piece of cardboard that will fit inside the cat's mouth. Cut it out and paint it. Glue one end of the tongue to the strip of cardboard so the other end
of the tongue can slide in and out of the mouth.
4. Hold the carton with one hand and the cardboard strip with the other. Make the cat's tongue and eyes move up and down.
